Roundstone Monuments

These are the monuments of the Roundstone Clan lands:

Bluestone Circle

Bluestone Circle consists of twelve roughly shaped stones of a hard grey-blue rock. Six are tall pillar shapes roughly 12 feet high which alternate with six wider rounder stones about 8 feet high. They stand on top of Aelith Ridge.  A blue-grey cloud called Natarena always hangs above the circle and it always rains here though varying from a fine drizzle to a downpour. She is a daughter of the Blue Woman. Sacrifices are offered to  Natarena to ask for rain within the Sambari lands:

The circle is sacred to Heler and his worshippers say that it was here that he defeated Ui for the second time. The Roundstone Clan's ceremonies for Heler's holy days usually take place here. On Clayday, Illusion Week, Sea Season Heler worshippers from all of the Sambari Tribe come here, forgetting their clan rivalries for the day, in a ceremony that remembers the second wounding.

 

 

 

Bright Eye

The western peak on the Three Eye Ridge contains a holy site of to Elmal worshippers. On the flat top of the hill is a large conical mound about 140 feet high. It was built of stone long ago but is now covered in turf. A path spirals around it to the summit where a circle of nine 7-9 foot stones surround a central monolithic pillar 20 feet high. A circular hole has been cut through the pillar and through the sun shines on Fireday, Stasis Week, Fire Season to make a ray of light which illuminates the largest of the surrounding stones. The Lunars also seem interested in this site and groups of their priests have been seen on the hilltop. At the bottom of the hill an artificial passage roofed and walled with large stone slabs leads into the hill and out of this runs the stream called Don't Drink. This path is said to be a way into the Underworld. Few have ever dared venture inside and none have aver returned to say what they have found.

Vinga's Stone (Tooth Rock)

This strangely shaped stone is actually a tooth lost by Vinga.  It was knocked out by one of her brothers whilst they were fighting. He was trying to prevent her from leaving the stead against Orlanth's will.  Needless to say this just made a bad situation worse as Vinga just became really angry and flattened the brother for spoiling her good looks.  The daemon will not appear to men. To women it is heard as the pounding of blood in their ears and is seen as a red mist at the edges of their vision.  This shrine is the focus of celebrations for Defence Day. Vingans also sacrifice here to learn her feat.
